[Video] Seconds, please!’: Shawn Tse explores South Sudanese food, family and culture in first Episode
Edmonton based filmmaker, Shawn Tse in pilot episode of “Seconds, please!”, visits a South Sudanese family and learns how to make a traditional dish called Mullah Akhdir.
Along with chatting about the food, ingredients, and cooking, Tse asks the family about their migration story.
Tse is bringing the themes of immigration, family, and food together in a six-part video series called, “Seconds, Please!”
Seconds, Please! is a video-based series documenting stories and traditional recipes from Canadian immigrant families. Each episode showcases one family where the elder generation teaches a family recipe from their homeland for the audience.
