#TopTenThursday: 10 African food bloggers based in Canada you should know

In line with our vision of promoting creativity and celebrating Africans in Canada, I will be publishing a top ten list every Thursday. The lists will highlight amazing work and shine the spotlight on different people in the community.

In our first top ten list, we are celebrating dedicated and talented food bloggers of African descent based in Canada.

In no particular order here are our top ten African food bloggers in Canada.

1. jasminelukuku by Jasmine Lukuku

Country of Origin: Zambia

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia

About: Jasmine Lukuku is the mind behind The Blenderist and Black Food Bloggers Club (a group for food bloggers and food professionals). Jasmine founded The Blenderist as a single-contributor food blog in 2014 and in 2016  started The Black Food Bloggers Club which has grown into a lively and focused community.
In 2017 she decided to devote her attention to building the Black Food Bloggers Club and converting theblenderist.com into a multi-contributor site featuring BFBC members.

2. trad_cuisine by David Abó

Country of Origin: Nigeria

Location: Kitchener, Ontario

3. caponfood by Chef Karen

Country of Origin: Benin Republic

Location: Montreal, Quebec

About: Stung by the cooking bug at the young age of 7, Chef Karen uses her knowledge and passion on Beninese cuisine and her acquired skill as a trained chef to present traditional food in a modern way.

4. 9jafoodie By Ronke Edoho

Country of Origin: Nigeria

Location: Regina, Saskatchewan

About: Ronke has been referred to as one  the founding mothers of African food blogging, specifically with Nigerian food, by some. Ronke started the blog to educate the world about Nigerian food. She is also a certified Clinical weight loss specialist and author of the cookbook Lose It Nigerian.

Country of Origin: Ghana

Location: Vancouver

8. grated_nutmeg by Terry Adido

Country of Origin: Nigeria

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

About: Terry Adido is a foodie and cake designing enthusiast that is passionate about showing people how easy it is to recreate restaurant quality meals in the comfort of their kitchens.
Terry made it to the top 7 of MasterChef Canada season 3 and had one of the highest numbers (5) of challenge wins in the season.

9. recipesforeverysoul by Anne

Country of Origin: Indian by birth, Kenya by Marriage

Location: Milton, Ontario

About: Anne was born in Kerala, India. She moved with her family to Bahrain, then moved to Chicago for college where she met her husband, Joe who is Kenyan. Then got married and settled in Canada. Her exposure to different cultures plays a huge  part in her style of cooking.

About: Chef Mide shares drool-worthy pictures of delicious Nigerian meals prepared with lot of love.
