The Thomson Corporation was one of the world’s largest information companies. It was established in 1989 following a merger between International Thomson Organisation Ltd (ITOL) and Thomson Newspapers. In 2008, it purchased Reuters Group to form Thomson Reuters. 

Joseph Tsai or Tsai Chung-Hsin is a Taiwanese-Canadian billionaire businessman. He is the co-founder and executive vice chairman of Alibaba Group.

Willard Gordon Galen Weston is a British-Canadian businessman and philanthropist as well as Executive Chairman of George Weston Limited, a leading food processing and distribution company. 

Canadian communications and media company, Rogers Communications Inc. is a founded by Edward S. Rogers Sr.

Saputo family founded Saputo Inc., a Montreal-based Canadian dairy company founded in 1954. Currently, Saputo produces, markets, and distributes a wide array of dairy products, including cheese, fluid milk, extended shelf-life milk, and cream products, cultured products, and dairy ingredients.
Saputo Inc is one of the top ten dairy processors in the world.

Garrett Camp is a Canadian businessman and investor. He co-founded StumbleUpon,a web-discovery platform, while in graduate school at the University of Calgary in 2002 and co-founded Uber, a transportation network company in 2009. Garrett serves as Chairman for both StumbleUpon and Uber.

The Desmaris family controls Power Corp. of Canada, whose interest include stakes in finance and energy in giants companies in North America, Europe, and Asia. The clan is sometimes described as the closest thing Canada has to business royalty.

The Irving Group of Companies is owned and controlled by the descendants of Canadian industrialist K.C. Irving, namely his children J.K., Arthur, and Jack and their respective children. This conglomerate has interests in several industries including Oil and gas, forestry, integrated forest products, building supplies, frozen food, transportation, shipping lines, and shipbuilding.

The Richardson family has been synonymous with the grain industry in western Canada from the early days of European settlement to the present. James Richardson came to Canada from Ireland in 1822 or 1823. He started in Kingston, Ontario with a tailor shop, and when he took payment in grain, he was forced into the grain business. He gave up his tailor shop, and with his two sons formed James Richardson and Sons in 1857.

Richardson International is a privately held Canadian agricultural and food industry company headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In addition to Richardson International, James Richardson & Sons manages financial services through Richardson Financial Group, property management through Richardson Center Limited, and oil and gas exploration through Tundra Oil & Gas Partnership.


James “Jimmy” Pattison is a Vancouver -based business magnate, investor philanthropistand the founder and sole owner of The Jim Pattison Group.
The Jim Pattison Group is Canada’s second largest privately-held company, with more than 45,000 employees worldwide, and annual sales of $10.1 billion. The Group is active in 25 divisions, according to Forbes, including packaging, food, forestry products, media , adevertisement, real estate
