The Cultural Arts Studio presents The Identification Of Àdétútú, an art exhibition by Jovita Odegua Akahome. The debut exhibition from Jovita features images of a Nigerian fashion model, Àdétútú, and a display of body scarification of West African origin, as well as other geometric patterns that are generally consistent in African art.
All six acrylic paintings that are displayed in this exhibition depict six different patterns of identity marks from Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina- Faso, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Jovita Odegua Akahome is a Canada-based visual artist of Nigerian origin.
The exhibition will take place on Saturday, 13th April 2019 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Cultural Arts Studio | Cocoa Tea Gallery 40 Colonnade Road Ottawa, ON K2E 7J6.
