Nigerian International student, Emmanuel Solomon is singing for his tuition.

Nigerian International student, Emmanuel Solomon came to Dalhousie University,  Halifax to chase his dream of becoming an operatic tenor. The 24-year-old came on a $14,000 entrance scholarship that only covered his first year, but can not afford the $20,000 school fees for his second year.

Solomon who is in Canada on a student visa is holding a fundraising concert to pay for his tuition. The fundraiser will feature performances from Solomon alongside his church, teachers and some students in his music program at First Baptist Church in Halifax on Oct. 21.

They’re hopeful that between the concert and a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe, they’ll be able to cover Solomon’s second year’s tuition.
