Canada boxing community is mourning the demise of a great heavyweight from the National Team, David Defiagbon.
Defiagbon, who lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia before moving to the U.S., died over the weekend of heart failure at the age of 48.
Nigerian–born Defiagbon represented Nigeria in the 1992 Olympics before moving to Canada. He went on to win a silver medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta in the heavyweight division for Canada. He is the last Canadian boxer to take home an Olympic medal.
