COLOUR BLIND, An Exhibition by Benny Bing | Toronto || June 15-16

Curated by Ashley McKenzie-Barnes

Colour Blind, an exhibition of boldly coloured paintings that celebrates the myriad of contributions of black women to the landscape of style, beauty, and power. The exhibition, considers art as a reflection of identity and that colour is beautiful and it should never be ignored but embraced.

Benny Bing’s vibrant hues embrace the complexities of race while highlighting the uniqueness amongst us all. As an artist of colour, he brings life to his own perception of ‘colourblindness’, but also raises the concern of how it denies prejudicial experiences, cultural heritage and individual perspectives.
