Burundi-born Arielle Kayabaga has been sworn in as the Ward 13 city councilor in London, ON, yesterday, making her the first black woman in the city to hold the office.

The 28-year-old who came to Canada as a refugee defeated 2014 runner-up, John Fyfe-Millar on the 8th round of voting to secure the seat in the Ward that was left vacant by Tanya Park. Read More
